Eleanor Margaret Johnson
April 12, 1935 - September 8, 2023
Eleanor Margaret Johnson lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. Born in Springfield, she dedicated 35 years to teaching elementary school children, touching countless young lives with her patience and wisdom.
An avid gardener, Eleanor cultivated a beautiful rose garden that was the envy of her neighborhood. She was also a talented painter, with several of her landscapes displayed in local galleries. Eleanor believed in community service, volunteering at the local food bank well into her retirement.
She is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory and the values she instilled in them.
Memories & Condolences
Mrs. Johnson was my third grade teacher and she instilled in me a love of reading that has lasted my entire life. I'll always remember how she made each student feel special and capable.
Eleanor was the heart of our neighborhood. Her beautiful garden was a testament to her caring nature. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
